Poker at Genting Casino Plymouth
Our poker room offer is simple and quite focused. Genting Casino Plymouth is based at 2 Union Street, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 2SR and operates as part of Genting Casinos UK, which in turn sits under the Malaysia-based Genting Group. Live-dealt tables usually get going from around 6pm every day, our electronic gaming starts up from roughly 1pm, and the venue stays open until somewhere close to 4am. For Plymouth, that is a pretty late finish and people tend to use it.
Poker here is built almost entirely around cash games. We spread Texas Hold’em, nothing more complex than that, and the cash table is placed on the upper level of the casino. That same upper area is treated as a VIP space. Access up there goes through our Genting membership card system - we explain that in more detail a bit further down. Players sit straight into the game by buying in at the table, exchanging cash for chips, with clear minimum and maximum limits applied. We are not running a large tournament schedule, there is no big series calendar. It is about a live cash game most evenings, with regulars and visitors sharing the same table.

It is important to call us before you set off, especially if you are travelling in. We do not publish a live poker timetable online and table status can change night by night, so one quick call to +44 (0)1752 228 930 will tell you whether a game is running and saves you arriving to find no table running.
What Else Is on the Gaming Floor
Poker is only part of the picture. On the main floor we deal the usual core casino games. You will find American Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card Poker and Electronic Roulette terminals as part of the line-up. The electronic roulette units are typically available from early afternoon, so there is something to play while you wait for live tables to open at around 6pm. We also have slots and other electronic gaming machines positioned across the floor.
Third-party casino directories put our machine count somewhere in the region of 15 to 27 units, and the number of table or poker positions roughly between 7 and 12. Those figures are based on external listings and depend on when the information was last updated, so they should only be taken as rough guidance instead of exact inventory. If the precise mix of tables and machines is important for your visit, we advise calling the venue direct so staff can confirm what is currently on the floor.
The typical game line-up reported for Genting Casino Plymouth is as follows:
- American Roulette - live-dealt, from around 6pm
- Blackjack - live-dealt, from around 6pm
- Three Card Poker - live-dealt, from around 6pm
- Electronic Roulette - available from early afternoon
- Texas Hold’em cash poker - on the upper level, membership card required
- Slots and other electronic gaming machines - available across the main gaming floor
Getting Into the Poker Area
Entry to the poker and VIP level follows the same basic process as at the rest of our Genting venues in the UK. You arrive during opening hours, present valid photo identification at the entrance so we can verify that you are 18 or over, and then, if you do not already have one, you register for a Genting membership card at reception. Registration is free, it usually only takes a few minutes, and once you have your card you can move freely into the upper poker and VIP section, subject to capacity.
When you reach the poker table, speak with the dealer or a member of our floor team to say you would like to join the cash game. Cash is exchanged for chips at the table, and you will be reminded of the minimum and maximum buy-in before you sit in. After your session, you simply cash out with the dealer or at the cashier desk before you leave the casino floor. It is all standard casino procedure without any extra steps added.
One small piece of practical advice: if you are new to live cash poker, it usually helps to stand back for a short while and watch a few hands play out before you sit down. Getting a sense of how quickly the table is moving, how the regulars behave and how the dealer runs the game will often be more useful than reading about strategy in advance.
We have not set any formal requirement for booking ahead into cash games, there is no official reservation system published, but even so, phoning us in advance on +44 (0)1752 228 930 is still the best approach so you know where things stand that evening.
